The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Dylan L. Smith, age 23, of Bath, for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, both class B felonies.  The arrest was from a Steuben County Superior Court Warrant that alleged the sale of narcotic drugs in the Village of Bath in 2021.  Mr. Smith is on New York State Parole for Burglary.  Mr. Smith was taken to the Steuben County Jail where he will await an arraignment by a County Court Judge.

            The investigation was the work of the Bath PD, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office Investigator.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Luther L. Dixon, age 42, of Rochester, NY for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Sale of Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, both class B felonies.  The arrest stems from investigations into the sale of cocaine in the Village of Bath in early 2021.  The arrest was from a Steuben County Superior Court warrant.

            The US Marshalls office took Mr. Dixon into custody in Rochester as he is on Federal Probation related to a weapons charge.  The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, whom also had a warrant, transported Mr. Dixon to Bath PD for processing.  Mr. Dixon was taken to the Steuben County Jail on August 9th and was arraigned August 10th by Judge Roche where he was released without bail on all charges but was held for now on Federal Probation warrant.

            The investigation was the work of the Bath PD, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office Investigator.


The Village of Bath Police Department working in conjunction with the Steuben County Sheriff’s Department, on July 28th at approx. 6:20 pm executed a search warrant at 19 May St., apt. 206, in the Village of Bath.  Scales, packaging material and crystal meth was recovered from the scene.  Arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a class D felony, was Julie A. Wing, age 38, and Jason M. York, age 42.  Both were processed and taken to the Centralized Arraignment Court where they will be arraigned at a later date.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Roy D. Hyer, age 44, homeless, on July 27th, 2021.  Mr. Hyer was located at 9 Purdy St., in the Village of Bath and was taken into custody after a brief standoff.  Mr. Hyer had Bench Warrants for failure to appear on multiple felony cases out of Steuben County Court and Bath Village Court for drug offenses.  Mr. Hyer was arrested for new charges for Unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine in the third degree, a class D felony, relating to a July 15th search warrant of his residence.  Mr. Hyer was also arrested on a Superior Court sealed indictment arrest warrant alleging 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, class D felonies, and 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, class B felonies.

            Upon search of 9 Purdy St. officers located a defaced firearm that was loaded.  At the conclusion of the investigation it was determined to be that of Mr. Hyer’s and he is a 4 time convicted felon.  Mr. Hyer was subsequently charged with felony possession of weapon for the defaced firearm and a class C felony for possessing a loaded firearm with intent to use it unlawfully against another person.  Mr. Hyer was processed and taken to the Steuben County Jail where he awaits arraignment.  The firearms case will be turned over for federal review for potential federal prosecution.


The Village of Bath Police Department arrested Nicholas J. Crouch, age 30, of the Steuben County Jail, on 2 sealed indictment warrants alleging Criminal Possession and Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, 4 class D felonies.  The investigation was the result of an investigation into the sales of crystal meth on W. Washington St in the Village of Bath.  The Sheriff’s office investigation unit and District attorney investigator assisted in the investigation. 

          Mr. Crouch was arraigned by a County Court Judge and held due to a probation violation warrant.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Joseph E. Hojnoksi, age 51, of E. Morris St., Bath, NY for 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th Degree, all class D felonies.  The arrest is the result of an investigation into the sales of Crystal Methamphetamine in the Village of Bath in 2021.  The arrest was from 2 sealed indictment superior court warrants out of Steuben County Court.  Mr. Hojnoski is currently being supervised by NYS Parole.  Mr. Hojnoski was processed and taken to the Steuben County Jail where he awaits arraignment by a County Court Judge.

          The arrest was the result of cooperation between the Bath PD, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, and the District Attorney Investigator.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Adam R. Greenberg, also known as “Taz” for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third and Fourth Degrees and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third and Fifth Degrees, all felonies.  Mr. Greenberg was indicted by a Steuben County Grand Jury and a sealed indictment warrant was issued.  Mr. Greenberg was arraigned in Steuben County Court and released without bail.  It is alleged that Mr. Greenberg sold fentanyl and suboxone in the Village of Bath in 2021.

          The arrest was the cooperation of the Village of Bath PD with the Steuben County Sheriff’s office and District Attorney Investigator.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Christian M. Sutton, age 37, formerly of 510 W. Washington St., Bath, NY and currently of the Steuben County Jail, for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, class B felonies.  Mr. Sutton was indicted by a Steuben County Grand Jury alleging the sale of crack cocaine in the Village of Bath in 2021.  Mr. Sutton was also on parole.

          Also arrested was Carlos Gomez, age 44, formerly of 512 W. Washington St., Bath and currently a resident of the Steuben County Jail, for Criminal Sale and Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, class B felonies.  It is alleged that Mr. Gomez sold fentanyl in the Village in 2021.  Mr. Gomez was on NYS Parole as well.  Both were arraigned in County Court and had parole warrant holds.

          The arrests were the work of the Village of Bath Police Department, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, and District Attorney’s Office Investigator. 


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Paige Palmer, age 24, of 125 W. Morris St. in the Village of Bath for Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd and 4th Degrees and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd and 5th Degrees, all felonies.  Ms. Palmer was indicted by a Steuben County Grand Jury alleging the sale of fentanyl and suboxone in the Village of Bath in 2021.  Ms. Palmer was arraigned by a County Court Judge and released without bail.


On July, 5th 2021 Jordan E. Parkhurst, age 26, of 125 W. Morris St. in the Village of Bath, was arrested on a sealed indictment superior court warrant for 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree, 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the in the Third Degree, 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree.  Mr. Parkhurst was processed and taken to the Steuben County Centralized Court where he will await an arraignment by a County Court Judge.  It is alleged that Mr. Parkhurst sold fentanyl and suboxone in the Village of Bath in 2021.         


On 6/13/2021 around 5:00pm the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Sarah L. Barnes, 25, of Colonial Lawns in Bath. The Bath Police Department along with the New York State Police were dispatched for a domestic incident that was reported in a moving vehicle on State Route 86. The vehicle ended up parking on Belfast Street in the Village of Bath. Upon arrival, Bath Police Officers located Sarah Barnes and the victim, who is the protected party of an order of protection between the victim and Barnes.

          Barnes was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operator 2nd and Criminal Contempt 2nd, a class A misdemeanor. Barnes was transported to the Steuben County Jail to be arraigned in the morning of 6/14/2021 where she was subsequently released.

          On 6/16/2021 around 8:30PM, Bath Police Officers were dispatched to Belfast Street in the Village of Bath for a disturbance. Officers investigated and observed Sarah Barnes to be inside of the residence of the protected party. Barnes was placed under arrest and charged with Criminal Contempt 2nd. She was transported to the Steuben County Jail where she will be arraigned on 6/17/2021. 


On 6/5/21, the Village of Bath Police department took a report of a male who had been observed to be defecating on the Central Bar and Exchange St roadway. Upon investigation Bath Police Department was able to secure video footage of the subject who was identified as James F. Tawney.

          On 6/6/21 James F. Tawney was located and placed in custody. Tawney was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and one citation for throwing refuse on a highway. Tawney was transported to Steuben County Jail and released with another court date in the Village of Bath Court.


On 6/6/21 at around 7:30am a Police Officer employed by the Village of Bath Police Department was patrolling the railroad tracks off of Lackawanna Ave. Patrol observed two subjects trespassing and looking through an abandoned bus off the railroad tracks. Upon investigation one of the subjects, Robert M. Camp, was found to have a warrant out of Pennsylvania. Both subjects were found to be in possession of multiple hypodermic needles. Camp was also found to be in possession of a small sandwich bag of Methamphetamine. 

          Robert M. Camp was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor, Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument, and Fugitive from Justice. Camp was transported to Steuben County Jail to await transportation by PA authorities.

          Amanda S Salsman was charged with Criminal Possession of a Hypodermic Instrument and released with an appearance ticket. Salsman is due back in the Village of Bath Court on a later date.


On 05/21/2021 around 12:03am, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Warren D. Copp, 45, of W. Steuben St. in the Village of Bath, for misdemeanor Animal Cruelty for failure to provide necessary veterinary care to his dog causing pain and suffering to the animal.  When Mr. Copp was taken into custody, he was found in possession of a set of metal knuckles and was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd degree a class D felony. 

            Mr Copp was transported to the Steuben County Jail where he was arraigned in the Steuben County CAP court and released without bail. 


On 05/27/2021 around 12:31am, the Village of Bath Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which was operated by Rendell D. Hyer, 42, of Savona, NY.  Due to the investigation stemming from the traffic stop, Mr. Hyer was arrested for the charges Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 3rd degree both unclassified misdemeanors, as well as a window tint and cracked windshield violation.  Mr Hyer was also charged with Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia a class A misdemeanor.

Mr Hyer was released on an appearance ticket and Uniform Traffic Tickets to appear in the Village of Bath Court on June 9th, 2021 at 1300 hrs for arraignment.  


On 5/24/21 around 11:45pm the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Joshua J. Galloway, 33, homeless of Bath and Corning, NY. Galloway stole an item from the Family Dollar on W. Washington St. in the Village of Bath. Once arrested, he was also found to be in possession of a used hypodermic needle. Galloway was charged with petit larceny and possession of a hypodermic instrument, both class A misdemeanors. He was processed and then released to appear in Bath Village Court at a later date. On 5/25/2021 around 2:00pm, the Village of Bath Police Department was flagged down by a civilian who reported that a male was passed out in the road on W. Washington St. in the Village of Bath. Officers responded and spoke with Joshua Galloway. Galloway started to become uncooperative with Officers and started to throw his property all over the sidewalk and road. He refused to pick the property and garbage up. Officers subsequently charged him with littering and disorderly conduct, both violations. He was released on an appearance ticket and is due back in court at a later date. 


On 5/19/21 around 2:50pm, a Village of Bath Police Officer was flagged down by a civilian who believed he heard a domestic dispute going on in a residence on W. Morris St. in the Village of Bath. Bath Police Officers responded and confirmed that a domestic dispute was going on. The suspect in the domestic dispute, a Jordan Parkhurst would not cooperate with Officers and was obstructing their investigation.

          Bath Police Officers arrested Jordan Parkhurst, 26, of W. Morris St. in Bath for Obstruction of Governmental Administration 2nd, a class A Misdemeanor. While being placed under arrest, Parkhurst was found to be in possession of a small quantity of suspected Fentanyl and a used hypodermic needle. Parkhurst was also charged for criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th and possession of a hypodermic instrument. Both class A Misdemeanors. Parkhurst was processed and then released on appearance tickets. He is due back in Bath Village court at a later date.


On 5/21/21 at around 11:57pm a Police Officer employed by the Village of Bath Police Department was patrolling in a Southerly direction on Liberty Street. The Police vehicle was almost struck by another vehicle attempting to back out of a parking spot at a high rate of speed. Said Police Officer initiated a traffic stop and identified the operator by New York State ID card as Stacie L. Heikkila.

          After DWI investigation was completed, Heikkila was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Heikkila was found to have two prior DWI’s in the past two years and was operating the vehicle on a revoked license with no interlock device. Heikkila is currently on probation for Driving while Intoxicated out of Onondaga County.

          Heikkila was subsequently charged with backing unsafely, a traffic infraction, Aggravated Unlicensed operation in the 1st degree, a Class E Felony, Operating out of ignition interlock restriction, a Class A Misdemeanor, Driving while Intoxicated prior conviction in 10 years, a Class E Felony, and Operating a motor vehicle with BAC .08 of 1% prior conviction, a Class E Felony.

          Heikkila was issued Uniformed Traffic Tickets and is due back in the Village of Bath Court on a later date.


On 5/21/21 at around 5:10pm, Bath Police Department responded to a stolen bike complaint. Patrols were advised by the caller that the bike was last seen being operated in a westerly direction towards W. Washington Street. Patrols observed the stolen bike and a male with biking gloves attempting to avoid Officers. The subject was questioned and found to have a Warrant out of Monroe County.

          Suspect, Shelby L. Buchanan was taken into custody and found to be in possession of methamphetamine which was found in his bike gloves. Buchanan was also found to be in possession of a scale, multiple items for drug packaging and other drug paraphernalia. Buchanan was also found to be in possession of a large black dagger.

          Buchanan was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, a class D Felony, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd, a Class D Felony, and Criminal use of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, a class A Misdemeanor.

Buchanan was processed on his arrest and turned over to the Steuben County Jail for Centralized Arraignment. Buchanan was arraigned and released a day later on 5/22/21 and is due back in the Village of Bath Court on a later date.

Victim, a 13 year old resident in the Village of Bath was extremely happy to have his bike returned by Patrols.


On 5/14/2021 around 3:00pm, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Shaylee E. Ridley, 24, of W. Morris St. in the Village of Bath. Shaylee Ridley was arrested for Criminal Contempt 2nd, a class A Misdemeanor and resisting arrest, a class A Misdemeanor

          This arrest comes from a domestic dispute on Howell St. in the Village of Bath where Ridley violated an active stay away Order of Protection. When placed under arrest, Ridley actively resisted and refused to cooperate with Officers.

          Ridley was processed on her charges and then was transported to the Steuben County Jail for Centralized Arraignment. Ridley has violated this order of protection now seven times in the past year and a half. A small amount of bail was placed on Ridley and she is currently being held at the Steuben County Jail.


On, 5/15/2021 around 2:45pm, Bath Police Officers observed a Nicholas J. Crouch, 30, homeless of Bath, NY walking down Liberty St. in the Village of Bath. Officers knew that Crouch had an active warrant through Steuben County Probation. Officers approached Crouch on W. Steuben St. and subsequently arrested him on his warrant.

          Incident to the arrest, Crouch was found to be in possession of a large quantity of methamphetamines, a scale, multiple items for drug packaging, paraphernalia and used hypodermic needles.

          Crouch was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd, a class B Felony, criminal use of drug paraphernalia 2nd, a class A Misdemeanor, and possession of a hypodermic instrument, a class A Misdemeanor. This is Crouch’s second felony drug charge in the past month.

          Crouch was processed on his arrest and turned over to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office for the warrant. Crouch was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment on 5/15/2021 at 5:30pm and was released on all of his charges and able to go back into the public. He is due back in Bath Village Court at a later date.


On 5/14/2021 around 12:30pm, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Ashley N. Short, 32, homeless of Bath, NY. Ashley Short was arrested for Grand Larceny 4th, a class E Felony.

          This arrest comes from an incident that occurred on 5/11/2021 where Ashley Short stole a purse out of a vehicle that was parked at a business on W. Morris St. in the Village of Bath. The purse had credit and debit cards inside. She was previously arrested the night before on a separate incident for criminal possession of stolen property 4th, a class E Felony, criminal possession of stolen property 5th, a class A Misdemeanor, and criminal possession of a controlled substance 7th, a class A Misdemeanor.            Ashley Short was processed on all her charges and she was then released on appearance tickets. She is due back in the Village of Bath court at a later date.


The Village of Bath Police Department executed a no knock search warrant on May 11th, 2021 at 100 W. Steuben St., the upstairs apartment, in the Village of Bath.  Amber Gerow, age 37, of the same address was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a class D felony and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, a class E felony.  Ms. Gerow has been charged with several felonies in the past few months and was released every time due to new bail reform laws.

            Also arrested on the warrant was Nicholas J. Crouch, age 30, homeless, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree and Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, both class A misdemeanors.  He was released on appearance tickets to appear in Bath Village Court at a later date.

            Also arrested from the search warrant was Steven Jeffers, 36, of 100 W. Steuben St,  for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a class D felony.  Mr. Jeffers was charged with Burglary in Third Degree, a class D felony, and Petit Larceny and Burglary 2nd Degree, a class C felony, and Grand Larceny 4th Degree, for a residential burglary.  Mr. Jeffers had a warrant out of City of Corning court for failure to appear on charges of possession of burglar tools and petit larceny.

            Seized from the house on the search warrant was a truck load of stolen property from at least 3 burglaries, to include several large televisions, stereos, laptops, electronics, and several Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Uniforms with patches.  Crystal methamphetamine, scales, packaging materials, suboxone, and cash was seized as well.  2 “zip guns” were found in the residence which are crude homemade guns designed to fire one shot at a time.  One was found made for a large caliber rifle round with live ammunition. 

            Both Gerow and Jeffers were taken to Steuben County Centralized arraignment court where the following day the Assistant District Attorney attempted to get bail set on Mr. Jeffers for the residential burglary and the judge did not.  Both Jeffers and Gerow are free at large.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Lawrence A. Rodgers, age 61, of 216 Campbell St., in the Village of Bath, on 2 sealed indictment Superior Court Warrants of Arrest for 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and 2 Counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, class D felonies.  The arrest stemmed from the sales of crystal methamphetamine in the Village in 2019. 

            Mr. Rodgers was stopped in his motor vehicle and arrested on the sales warrants and found to have crack cocaine and cash on him.  Mr. Rodgers was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, a class D felony.  Mr. Rodgers is on parole for narcotics trafficking, but New York State Parole refused to issue a parole warrant.

            Mr. Rodgers was taken to the Steuben County Jail where he will be arraigned at a later date by a county court judge.

            The Bath Police Department then executed a search warrant of Mr. Rodgers apartment and found approx. $16,000 in crack cocaine at his residence along with more cash and packaging materials.  This is the largest crack cocaine arrest in Bath PD history.  Mr. Rodgers will be also arraigned on the charge of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a class A-II felony for the narcotics in his residence. 


The Village of Bath Police Department executed a narcotics search warrant on May 6th, 2021 at 12 W. Washington St., Apt. 201, in the Village of Bath.  The warrant was the conclusion of another methamphetamine sales investigation at the residence.

            Arrested was Heather L. Baker, age 32, of the same address, for 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th degree, for possessing methamphetamine and suboxone, Criminal Nuisance in the Second Degree, Attempted Criminal Mischief 4th degree, Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree.  Ms. Baker has been released on Forgery 2nd charges, Criminal Possession of a Weapon and drug charges in recent months.

            Ms. Baker was taken to the centralized arraignment court for an arraignment later today.  More charges are likely after grand jury presentation at a future date.  Assisting the Bath Police execute the warrant was a Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Investigator and Steuben County District Attorney’s office Investigator.


On 05/03/2021 at approximately 4:30pm The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of William L. Newton, age 33, of6632 NY-415, Bath, for Criminal Trespass in the second degree, a class A Misdemeanor. The charges allege that Mr. Newton unlawfully entered a residence in the Village of Bath.

Mr. Newton was turned over to the Steuben County Sheriffs Department for further charges and sent to Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment.


The Village of Bath Police Department has begun for the first time conducting in person sex offender address verifications.  If the offender is in violation of the law an investigation will quickly and efficiently be completed and arrests or warrants be made or filed.  Previously, unless a tip or complaint was made in regard to a sex offender not living at a location, no officer physically verified the subject lived where they reported.


On 4/26/2021 at approximately 11:50am, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Zachary R. Tyler, 20, of Avoca NY. Zachary Tyler was arrested for Criminal Mischief 3rd degree, a class E Felony.

          This arrest stems from a Domestic Incident that occurred on Pine Street in the Village of Bath around 6:30am on 4/26/21 where the defendant damaged property worth more than $250.00. Zachary Tyler was transported to the Steuben County Jail for Centralized Arraignment. He will be arraigned on 4/26/21 in the afternoon.


The Village of Bath Police Department executed a no-knock search warrant on April 22nd, 2021 during the early morning hours at 510 W. Washington St., Apt. 203, in the Village of Bath.  The warrant was the conclusion of a crack cocaine sales investigation at the residence.  A large quantity of crack cocaine was seized valued at approx. $2,000 along with scales and packaging materials.  Also seized was a hundreds of dollars in cash.

            Arrested was Christian M. Sutton, age 37, of the same address, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance, a narcotic drug, with intent to sell, a class B felony.  Mr. Sutton is on New York State Parole and a parole warrant was issued.

            Mr. Sutton was taken to the Steuben County Centralized Court where he will be arraigned later today.

            More charges are likely after grand jury presentation at a future date.  Assisting the Bath Police execute the warrant was a Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Investigator and Steuben County District Attorney’s office Investigators.


On 4/18/21 the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Nicholas J. Crouch, 30 of Campbell NY. Crouch was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, a class D Felony, possession of a hypodermic instrument, class A Misdemeanor, false personation, class B Misdemeanor, Menacing 2nd, class A Misdemeanor, and Petit Larceny, class A. Misdemeanor.

            This arrest stems from an investigation that occurred on 4/17/2021 on W. Steuben St. in the Village of Bath where Crouch stole property from a person and then threatened the victim with a knife.

            Crouch was located by Bath Police Officers on 4/18/21 in front of the Dormann Library in the Village. Crouch provided Officers a false name and was also found to be in possession of a large quantity of suboxone, fentanyl, and packaging material consistent with selling narcotics. Crouch was arrested on his charges and then transported to the Steuben County Jail to be arraigned on 4/19/21 in the morning.   


On 4/16/2021 at approximately 11:37pm, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Joseph A. Burleson, 35, of Savona NY. Joseph Burleson was arrested for Felony Driving While Intoxicated with a Blood Alcohol Content greater than .08%. It was determined that Burleson had a prior conviction of DWI within the past 10 years which makes this charge a class E felony.      

          This arrest stems from a traffic stop on W. Washington St. in the Village of Bath where it was determined that Burleson was operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol. Burleson was arrested and processed on his charge. Burleson was issued Uniformed Traffic Tickets and released on an appearance ticket to return to Bath Village court at a later date.   


On 4/16/2021 at approximately 9:12pm, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Jonathon Tymel, 29, of W. William St. in Bath NY. Jonathon Tymel was arrested for Menacing 2nd, a class A misdemeanor and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, also a class A misdemeanor.   

          This arrest stems from an incident that occurred on 4/13/2021 on W. William St. in the Village of Bath where Tymel put a knife to the victim’s face, making the victim fearful. On 4/16/2021 around 9:12pm, Bath Police Officers located Tymel on W. Steuben St. and arrested him for the menacing charge. Incident to arrest, he was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Tymel was processed on his charges and then transported to the Steuben County Jail to be arraigned on 4/17/2021.  


On 4/16/2021 at approximately 7:45pm, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Evin A. Swarthout, 29, of Howell St. in Bath NY. Evin Swarthout was arrested for forcible touching, a class A Misdemeanor.            

This arrest stems from an incident that occurred on 4/13/2021. Swarthout is currently on Parole and is a registered sex offender. Swarthout was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail to be arraigned on 4/17/2021. Due to Swarthout being arrested, NYS Parole issued a Violation of Parole Warrant. Swarthout is currently being held at the Steuben County Jail.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Brentin L. Austin, age 33, of 13 West Washington St., upstairs rear apartment, Bath, NY.  The arrest stems into an investigation into the sales of crystal methamphetamine in the Village of Bath.  The charges are from sealed indictment warrants from Superior Court alleging 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fifth Degree, all class D felonies.  Mr. Austin was processed and taken to the Steuben County Jail until he can be arraigned by a Steuben County Court Judge at a later date.

            The investigation was the work of the Steuben County DA’s office investigators, Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Corning Police Department, and the Bath Police.


The Village of Bath Police Department executed a no-knock search warrant on April 15th, 2021 during the early morning hours at 100 W. Steuben St.  The warrant was the conclusion of a methamphetamine sales investigation at the residence.  A large quantity of crystal methamphetamine was seized along with scales and packaging materials.  Amber M. Gerow, age 37, of 100 W. Steuben St., Bath, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony.  Ms. Gerow was taken to the Steuben County Centralized Arraignment Court where she will be arraigned later this evening.

            Steven R. Jeffers, age 36, of 100 W. Steuben St., Bath was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor.  William Newton, age 33, of the Holland American Motel on State Route 415, Bath, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor.  Both Jeffers and Newton were issued appearance tickets and released to re-appear in Bath Village Court at a later date. 

            More charges are likely after grand jury presentation at a future date.  Assisting the Bath Police execute the warrant was a Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Investigator and a Steuben County District Attorney’s office Investigator.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of William L. Newton, age 33, of 6632 State Route 415 Bath, NY. The arrest comes after investigation into a stolen bicycle and trespass complaint. Newton was arrested for petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property both of which class A misdemeanors. Newton was transported to Steuben County Jail for centralized arraignment. 


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrests of Thomas C. Duane, age 33, and Heather Duane, age 32, of 12 W. Washington, upstairs front apartment, Bath, NY. The arrests stems from a narcotics investigation into the sale of crystal methamphetamine from the residence. A no knock search warrant was executed by the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office Critical Incident Response Team and assisted by the Livingston County Critical Incident Response Team. A large sum of methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, and cash was seized.


Mr. Duane was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a class B felony. Mrs. Duane was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Seventh Degree, a class A misdemeanor, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class D felony. Both Mr. and Mrs. Duane are multiple convicted felons and were sent to the Steuben County Jail to be arraigned at CAP court. More charges are expected on Mr. Duane pending grand jury presentation.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Christopher M. Aldrich, age 41, homeless, on 2 Superior Court Warrants alleging 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all class B felonies.  The charges stem from the sale of fentanyl on Belfast St. in the Village of Bath in 2020.  Mr. Aldrich was processed and taken to the Steuben County Jail where he will be arraigned later by a County Court Judge.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Devin E. Smith, age 28, of Bath, NY for Falsely Reporting an Incident in the Third Degree, a class A misdemeanor.  Mr. Smith was processed and issued an appearance ticket to appear in Bath Village Court on April 14th, 2021.  The arrest was the result of an investigation in which Mr. Smith reported to 911 that a Bath Police Officer was driving intoxicated.  A very thorough investigation found the report to be a complete fabrication.


On 3/25/2021 at approximately 6:50pm, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of James T. Smith, 32, of Bath, NY, for Disorderly Conduct, a violation.

          The Village of Bath Police Department were dispatched to the Kwik Fill on W. Morris St. in the Village of Bath for a report of a suspicious male. Officers made contact with the male, identified as James T. Smith. He was asked to leave the Kwik Fill property and he started to create a scene by using offensive language and causing public alarm. There were multiple citizens going in and out of the store at that time.

          James T. Smith was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in Bath Village Court at a later date.  


On 3/27/2021 at approximately 2:30pm, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Brittany F. Farnham, 24, of Corning NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th  and possession of a hypodermic instrument. Both class A misdemeanors.

          While assisting a Steuben County Sheriff Deputy at an apartment complex on West Steuben St. in the Village of Bath, Officers found Brittany Farnham to be in possession of a used hypodermic needle and also a small plastic bag containing methamphetamine.

          Farnham was transported back the Bath Police Department to be processed on her charges and she was then released on an appearance ticket. She is due back in Bath Village Court at a later date.


The Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of William J. Seymore, age 31, of Rochester, NY for 2 counts of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, and 2 counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, all class B felonies.  The arrests stem from sealed indictment warrants issued by Steuben County Superior Court alleging the sale of crack cocaine in the Village of Bath in 2019.  A search warrant in February, 2019 in the Village of Bath led to Mr. Seymore’s arrest for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and a warrant had been issued on that charge for failure to appear as well.  Mr. Seymore was arraigned via Skype from the Monroe County Jail where he is on other charges.


On 3/26/2021 at approximately 12:46am, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Kevin P. Riff, 43, of Addison NY, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th.

          During a traffic stop on West Morris St. in the Village of Bath, Riff was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Riff was transported to Bath Police Department for processing on his charge and released on an appearance ticket. Riff was also issued traffic citations. Riff is due back in Bath Village Court at a later date.


On 3/16/2021 at approximately 11:00pm, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Dillon L. Cook, 23, of Elmira for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th, a class A Misdemeanor.

          This arrest stems from a traffic stop on Gansevoort Street in the Village of Bath. Upon investigation, Dillon L. Cook was found to be in possession of methamphetamine. Dillon cook was processed on his charge and then released on an appearance ticket.

          Cook is due back in Bath Village Court at a later date. 


On 03/17/2021 around 2:20pm, the Village of Bath Police Department responded to Mountain View apartment complex on May St. for the report of 2 males causing a disturbance. Upon investigation, patrols located both subjects and after interview a Jordan E. Parkhurst was found to be in possession of heroin, marihuana and multiple needles.

Jordan E. Parkhurst was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th degree, a class A misdemeanor. Parkhurst was processed and then released on an appearance ticket. Parkhurst is due back in Bath Village Court at a later date.


On 3/21/2021 at approximately 12:36am, the Village of Bath Police Department reports the arrest of Keith C. Graves, 61, of Buell Street in the Village of Bath. Keith C. Graves was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th, a class D Felony and he was also issued multiple traffic citations.

          This arrest stems from a traffic stop initiated on Buell Street in the Village of Bath. During the investigation, Bath Village Police recovered a quantity of Crack/Cocaine that Keith Graves possessed. Also recovered was cash, and drug paraphernalia.

          Keith Graves was processed and transported to the Steuben County Jail. Graves was due to be arraigned on his current charges in the morning of 3/21/21. Graves is currently on probation for dangerous drugs.
